Artwork File Specifications
Here are our artwork file specifications for graphic production and printing:
Some things to know before supplying artwork:
-
- Resolution is very important.
- Most images that are taken from the internet do not have a high enough resolution.
- Artwork time is $60 per hour
- Photos that are scanned into your computer will not be as clear as digital photos but, in many cases, will work.
We print CMYKLmLc (6-color process). Not all colors can be exactly matched. In most cases, the colors are near or exact.
-
- We do our best to complete all orders within 72 hours after the final artwork has been supplied to us.
- Important color information: For predictable color, vector files must be submitted with colors defined from your application’s PMS library. RGB color pallet definitions do not reproduce consistently.
- Please note that not all PMS colors can be accurately produced with the CMYK process. If color matching is critically important, we offer a color-matching proof service for $35. Color matching is not guaranteed.
Files for digital print projects:
-
- Preferred file formats for digital: jpg, tiff, pdf, and eps (with type/fonts converted to curves).
- Additionally, we gladly accept all major file formats from professional graphic applications such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Corel, and Flexi-Sign.
- If contour cutting is required, an additional vector cut path must be supplied.
- Typically, the resolution should be kept to 100 dpi at the finished size for raster images for best results. With some projects, 50-75 dpi may be acceptable.
- We will not print your job if it’s going to look bad resolution-wise without your approval first. Files at 1/2 or 1/12 scale are encouraged for very large layouts.
